Using Dev-Doc

Credits & billing

Dev-Doc is pay-as-you-go. Runs are paid with credits; your balance is always visible in the top bar and turns red when it is used up. New accounts start with 40 free credits. See Pricing for rates.

What costs credits

  • Analysis runs — imports and re-analyses. Credits are deducted as the AI writes your documentation, so the cost follows the size of the project.
  • Codebase analysis, when included, explains every file and costs the most.
  • A complete re-analysis bills the whole project again; an incremental one only the missing work.

Reading, editing, approving, sharing, downloading and browsing demo projects are free.

Pricing models

Each project has a pricing model — the quality tier used for its runs. Higher tiers write richer documentation and cost more per run. Change it on the import page or on the project card.

Try a lower tier first. Look at the result, then switch to a higher tier with a complete re-analysis if you want more depth.

Running out during a run

Every step checks your balance first. If credits run out, the run stops; top up, then re-analyse incrementally — the work already done is kept.

Buying credits

On Purchase Credits, choose 10–1,000 credits and pay in the secure Paddle checkout. Paddle is the Merchant of Record and issues the invoice; companies click Add VAT number so it is issued in the company’s name. Credits are added once the payment is confirmed and never expire. Credits Usage lists every top-up and every run with its cost.
